The Xiaomi X20+ boasts a sleek, modern design with a matte finish that blends well with contemporary interiors. Its measures make it compact enough to clean under most furniture, though taller sensors may prevent access to very low spaces. 

We found the suspension wheels to move smoothly over various floor types, and the anti-fall sensors provided reassurance when cleaning near stairs. Its intuitive buttons allow for easy manual operation, while laser sensors enhance navigation and mapping capabilities.

The all-in-one base station, though large, adds immense value. During our testing, the automatic dust collection and mop pad washing worked seamlessly, making maintenance incredibly convenient. The air-drying system kept the mop pads fresh, which was particularly useful for consecutive cleaning sessions.

Performance and Features — Robust Cleaning Power

The X20+ delivers robust cleaning performance with its 6000Pa suction power, capable of picking up debris, fine dust, and pet hair effortlessly. During our tests, it handled tough stains like coffee and ketchup effectively on hard floors. 

The high-speed rotating mop pads excelled at cleaning kitchen spills, leaving the surface spotless. Its mop’s auto-lifting feature prevented carpets from getting wet, although we did have to manually designate carpet areas in the app.

The vacuum’s obstacle avoidance system worked well for larger objects like shoes but occasionally struggled with smaller items like cords, requiring manual intervention. Despite this, the S-Cross™ structured light system significantly reduced navigation errors in low-light settings.

Battery and Automation — Efficient and Enduring

With a 5200mAh battery, the X20+ provides up to 140 minutes of operation, which we found sufficient to clean a medium-sized home thoroughly in one session. Its intelligent base station was a highlight during our testing, efficiently handling automatic dust collection and mop pad cleaning. 

However, the frequent trips to the base station for re-wetting mop pads interrupted the flow of cleaning, especially during larger tasks. We also appreciated the self-drying feature, which kept the mop pads hygienic and ready for the next cleaning session, minimizing unpleasant odors.

User Experience — Intuitive and Versatile

We found the Xiaomi Home app to be a standout feature, offering a seamless interface for controlling the robot remotely, scheduling cleanings, and monitoring its progress. Mapping was detailed, and we could easily customize cleaning zones, water flow, and suction power to suit our needs. The voice assistant compatibility with Alexa and Google Assistant added convenience, especially when initiating cleaning hands-free.

Despite the app’s user-friendly design, we were disappointed that cleaning solutions couldn’t be used with the mop, which limited its effectiveness on tougher stains. The app’s manual carpet marking feature ensured no mishaps, but we would have preferred automatic detection for an even smoother experience.

During our tests, we appreciated its ability to tackle everyday messes with ease, including stubborn kitchen spills. Ideal for medium to large homes, the X20+ is worth considering if you prioritize advanced features and user-friendly controls over premium mopping capabilities.
