An American Steam City, a More Mature Layton
The story takes place one year after Unwound Future. Luke Triton, now a detective and resident of Steam Bison, invites the professor to solve a new case. This steampunk-styled city is powered by steam technology that surpasses even the London of the saga.
The antagonist, Gunman King Joe, is a spectral figure with a cowboy appearance. His goal: to halt industrial progress. In this new setting, the narrative promises a more mature tone, without losing the charisma that characterizes the series.
Redesigned Puzzles: The QuizKnock Era
Following the passing of the legendary Akira Tago in 2016, the puzzles will be handled by QuizKnock. This Japanese group, known for their logic content on YouTube, will bring a new perspective. The goal is to maintain the level of challenge, but with fresh ideas.
Classic puzzles will return. Interactive steam machines, mechanical devices, and more fluid exploration of Steam Bison will also be incorporated. And of course, the hint coin system will remain available for those who need help.
Visual Improvements on Switch 2: A New Level of Detail
The Nintendo Switch 2 version will benefit from the more powerful hardware of the new console. This means better visual performance, smoother animations, and higher resolutions, especially when playing in docked mode connected to the TV.
