PlayStation 5 Pro Performance — 4K Gaming, PSSR & Ray Tracing
One of the main attractions of the PS5 Pro is the incorporation of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) technology. During our sessions with titles like Stellar Blade, Horizon Forbidden West, and The Last of Us Part II Remastered, we observed real improvements in sharpness, textures, and stability.
We could play in 4K with up to 120 fps in some optimized titles, with very positive results. We also noticed advances in ray tracing, especially in reflections, shadows, and global illumination.
While some games didn’t show such marked differences, others —like Assassin’s Creed Shadows or Final Fantasy VII Rebirth— did offer evident improvements. We alternated between standard modes and Pro modes, and the jump in resolution and fluidity was noticeable even to the naked eye.

In titles like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth or Spider-Man 2, the adaptive triggers made a notable difference: we perceived bow tension or braking resistance in driving games like GT7.

During testing, we highlighted that the PS5 Pro maintains backward compatibility with over 8,500 PS4 and PS5 games, and many of them receive improvements through the Game Boost function. We also valued the 2 TB of storage, which allowed us to install several games without worrying about available space. Thanks to Wi-Fi 7, online multiplayer sessions were stable with low latency.
The DualSense also showed versatility outside the PlayStation ecosystem: we connected it to PC, Mac, and Android and iOS mobile devices via USB-C or Bluetooth, without problems. Additionally, firmware updates from Windows were simple using the official application.
